Did You Enjoy Doing What You Did a.k.a Maaza Aaya ?

Today, the source of joy has changed . Superficial joy has taken over inner joy, it is at the verge of getting a permanent seat in our heart and soul.

As a child, the smell of rain meant bliss to me. As i grew up and picked up golf, hitting the greens early morning, chipping the ball through the dew drops gave me happiness. During graduation, giving a presentation with a difference tasted like a tablet of ecstasy. At work, completing the task in hand at the earliest possible with maximum quality was all that mattered. Today, shopping is used as a tool to elevate mood and clubbing to unwind.

It is true that buying something we like does inject happiness in our blood and clubbing does help us unwind, however we must keep in mind that all these are superficial and their effect is temporary. Only inner joy is permanent, it is far more profound than any of these. Inner joy can be achieved by forgiving and then forgetting. It can be accomplished by gifting. It can also be mastered by setting goals and then fulfilling them.

Every time you do something, ask yourself – Did you enjoy doing what you did?

Life is a combination of phases and it is important to enjoy all of them...

"You're in ur 9th grade, a grown up kid... u better start taking life a bit seriously","Yes Mom".
By the time u realise what being serious meant, u enter the 10th grade, BOARD EXAM... that is when life has only one motive - STUDIES !! From teachers to parents... from seniors to girlfriend... everyone tells u to study.. irrespective of how much they scored when they were preparing for the same... u r in the middle of ur 10th and ur dad comes to u..."Son, science or commerce ?","dad i haven't really given it a thought but i feel Arts is my stream"... "WHAT ??"
By the time u get done with ur 10th ... 12th.. u have to take another important dicision as to what course and even important what college u wanna get into? And the run starts again...
Now, u've got what u wanted... good college, course of ur interest by the time u reach ur TY... Dad - "son i think u should join the MBA classes, for u shud start preparing for it, it shall get u a good career..."
Okay, now that u've done ur MBA, u sit in an office where u work 10 hrs a day.. and now that u're 'SETTLED' u have to get married, or else the society would crucify u....35, u have 2 kids and a wife,offcourse... still busy working, after all u've gotto pay bills, house rent, home loan, etc ... 45, your kids have grown up... 'I THINK MY CHILD SMOKES AND DRINKS'
The worry ends as the child grows up complets his MBA Degree and becomes a 'SETTLED' man...by then its time for u to retire and get engaged with the old - age Health problems...
That how we've been told to live and thats how probably we would live... but is that really all we should be doing....where is the time for urself ??
where is the time to smile, laugh, express ??
Did u ever enjoy the thrill of a road trip, mountaineering, skiing, camps, the trill that u get when u hit the football ground early morning and kick the ball through the dew drops.. the thrill that tells u to keep going... the thrill that even at 80 tells u to follow ur heart and not what society wants u to do....
I shall request all my known to start living for the moment, life is uncertain, lets enjoy every bit of it, let there be joy, let there be excitement, let there be passion, let there be 'life'...
(Movie suggested - 'The Fastest Indian')

Rediffusion...

23rd April, Almost a week after my xamz got over ... wanted to have fun for a while and then look for an internship... 3 days down n i had no clues of where i was doing my internship from.. forget that i dint even know the names of the top 3 Ad agencies of India... Evening 5 pm..
Anni bhaiya (One of the Seniors at the hostel) comes to the hostel..."tera internship ka kya scene hai ??" "bhaiya, abhi kuch soucha nahin"....
"Salley, kalpataru mein ek Ad agency hai... CV drop kardey".... "cool" but who knows what a CV looks like....
Got my CV done somehow (Staying in a Hostel, helps), went to the Corporate building behind my hostel, dropped my CV.. 24th Apr, i visited the office to drop my CV, the office was different, unlike the army offices i had seen all throughout my life, Music during work hours was new, pool table at the office was .. Wooho..
24th evening ko confirm hua followed by an interview.. and 25th Apr se joining...
Ah.. office... "Welcome to rediff, Chotey".... chotey, a term meaning younger brother... often used to designate someone younger to u in the office. Saturday was like a getogther day...so we all went out in the evening.
By now i had made a few friends one of them being Radhika Bilgi, the person who was on leave when i joined and the person whose chair and desk i was using in her absence besides being the person who loved me the most. Surya was my 'Mango Milk Shake' partner, Shiv, my pool partner(I lost every single frame...), and Anjali, one whom i could share every thought with...
From Bilgi's desk to Geetanjali's from Geetanjali's to Esha's and at times at the reception, the football treatment was indeed great, got the opportunity to know more people. From Vaishaka's 'shutter Stock' to Paul's 'one liner' for Airtel press ads, from Lyeesha's maintaining 'Gaurd Books' to Sharad's 'STB', the experience has contributed immensely in making my internship at rediffusion - Fun !!
Came Mondays and Came fridays, weeks passed, came the day when i had to leave the office, All i could do was smile, say 'thanks' and pack my stuff...
Thanks Maya,Sharad, Paul, Bilgi, Anjali, Bhavesh, Sachin, Shweta, Ketaki, Tanvi, Vishaka, Shiv, Mischelle, DESPATCH STAFF and HOUSE KEEPING STAFF.
The experience was awesome and has made me evolve in a unique manner.
Thanks, the respect for the people only grows as I end the post.
Profound Regards

Never fall for perception....

Perception ~ A word that does not have an exact meaning but can be broadly explained as a process through which people form an opinion, it is often at the rate of lack of knowledge and information about the object being perceived.
What stands important is to form own opinion, avoid being biased and try attaining maximum knowledge about the object before forming an opinion about the same. We often form opinions based on what our friends tell us or on what has been taught to us by our parents, teachers and seniors. I strongly oppose following what is traditional, we must believe in ourselves and therefore must not follow any path or belief blindly. Sadly, today we come accross people who have ended their relationships because their friends told them that their partner was cheating on them, surprisingly people develop such immense faith in this friend of theirs that they blindly follow what the friend tells them to do.
Lets form our own opinions, lets listen to all but do what our mind says. Lets give everyone a chance before forming an opinion about someone. I hope next time you form an opinion about someone, you don't fall under the category of 'stereotyped' !!
