Did You Enjoy Doing What You Did a.k.a Maaza Aaya ?

Today, the source of joy has changed . Superficial joy has taken over inner joy, it is at the verge of getting a permanent seat in our heart and soul.

As a child, the smell of rain meant bliss to me. As i grew up and picked up golf, hitting the greens early morning, chipping the ball through the dew drops gave me happiness. During graduation, giving a presentation with a difference tasted like a tablet of ecstasy. At work, completing the task in hand at the earliest possible with maximum quality was all that mattered. Today, shopping is used as a tool to elevate mood and clubbing to unwind.

It is true that buying something we like does inject happiness in our blood and clubbing does help us unwind, however we must keep in mind that all these are superficial and their effect is temporary. Only inner joy is permanent, it is far more profound than any of these. Inner joy can be achieved by forgiving and then forgetting. It can be accomplished by gifting. It can also be mastered by setting goals and then fulfilling them.

Every time you do something, ask yourself – Did you enjoy doing what you did?
